July Personal Projects

I finally finished my own quiet book from this last spring. I made one for Jane's Birthday, which she already plays with, and one for my niece's birthday. I am excited to give it to her.
I made this from an idea Kacey and Ashley had. It's a cover to go over Jane's car seat to keep it cool in this hot weather. It has worked perfectly and it only took 20 minutes to make.

Projects

This last couple of weeks I have been trying to finish various projects for myself, Jane and others {Church or Friends}. I wanted to show you some of the latest. I don't have pictures for the two 3D animal quilts I did but hopefully I will be getting those soon. Enjoy!!

Quiet Book Class MARCH 7th

Crafty Queens NEXT meeting will be on MARCH 7th to work on the quiet books. We will discuss at that time if we need an additional class. If you can't make that class please let Meg Lingard or Mindy Warren know so they can set up a time with you to get your book done. Crafty Queens do not want any book left unfinished. We would also like to announce the craft activity for April's Focus Night(April 2nd) - HOODED TOWELS!! We look forward to seeing everyone on MARCH 7th at the church at 9AM. Have a great weekend off!

Catch Up Day!!

The Crafty Queens will be meeting THIS Saturday, February 21st at 9AM to 11AM. We will be having a 'catch up day' in preparation for our last class on MARCH 7TH.

Quiet Book Layout

Here are the pictures of each quiet book page as requested. Please don't forget to come next Saturday, Feb. 14th from 9AM to 11AM. Please bring all equipment needed, i.e. machine, scissors, thread in coordinating colors, etc., and have all your pieces cut out for lesson 3. Don't forget to cut out 4 apples, 3 green leaves, 2 blue birds, 1 blue bird wing. If there are any questions please contact me or leave me a comment. Thanks.

Quiet Book List

We will be using the following items in our quiet book if anyone has extra and would like to donate them please call us.

Must Need items:
Felt: Any color
Shoe Strings
Small buckles
Plastic Clear Vinyl
Black Vinyl
Deer Cloth: any color
Muslin: cream or white
Thread: Basic colors
Velcro

We are also looking for Sewing Machines. If you know of someone who is not doing a book but has a machine they would let us use for the project, please let us know. We are willing to pick-up and drop-off the machine.

February Project

In February we are making quiet books. They will be made of soft fabrics and felts based on Primary Songs. There will be eight pages in each book using the following songs: I Love to See the Temple, Saturday, I am a Child of God, I’m Glad to Pay a Tithing, My Heavenly Father Loves Me, Follow the Prophet, Families Can Be Together Forever, and I Hope They Call Me on a Mission. We are trying to keep the cost at $10/book. Please let us know if you are interested and how many you would like to make. We need a total in order to figure the final cost. If there is anyone with buttons, felt, snaps, or other sewing items they would like to donate please contact us. Thanks!
